December 5th - Costume Information for Press Start!
Hello Kindergarten Families,
We've been hard at work here in Kindergarten over the past few days! This week we introduced patterns, and have been talking about what they are, and where we can find them. To start, students in both classes were asked to create a pattern using materials at their table.
We also re-read the story "The Mitten" and today students were asked to journal about an animal they know lives in the forest. They were challenged to try drawing an animal not found in the forest.
As you know, our performance of "Press Start" is coming up, and we have been busy getting ready for the show! We have been practicing our songs a lot, and we think you are really going to enjoy the performance! For the play, we have new information about costumes. The AM class will be dressing up as sidekicks, and the PM class will be villains. Please see below:

AM Class - Sidekicks Costumes
Cambrian Heights School’s musical performance of Press Start is fast approaching. Your child is part of the Sidekicks ensemble. In preparation for the show we are asking students to bring an orange, yellow, or brown shirt to school by no later than Monday December 10, 2018, with your child’s name clearly marked on them. Sidekicks can also wear a costume they already own in these colors. Sidekicks can come in many different forms from animals to video characters. Other colors can appear on the costume as long as the main color is brown, orange, or yellow. This will help to make our Sidekicks easy to recognize by the audience. You are not required to purchase anything for the show. Shirts can be worn inside out to hide logos. You can add a hat or another accessory to your outfit if you wish to do so. Costumes should be simple, as students will be putting them on independently in their classrooms the night of the show. Feel free to be creative using what you already own. Costume items will be kept in classrooms and returned home before the winter break.
PM Class - Villains Costumes
Cambrian Heights School’s musical performance of Press Start is fast approaching. Your child is part of the Villains ensemble. In preparation for the show we are asking students to bring a geen, black, or grey/silver shirt to school, by no later than Monday December 10, 2018, with your child’s name clearly marked on them. Villains can also wear a costume they already own in these colors. Villains can come in many different forms from animals to video characters. Other colors can appear on the costume as long as the main color is black, green, or grey/silver. This will help to make our Villains easy to recognize by the audience. You are not required to purchase anything for the show. Shirts can be worn inside out to hide logos. You can add a hat or another accessory to your outfit if you wish to do so. You are welcome to drop off your child’s costume to their classroom teacher during student-led conferences. If you have any questions please contact us. Thank you so much for your ongoing support!
