Hello Kindergarten families!
It's been a pleasure sitting down with many of you yesterday and today to get to know more about your children.
This week we have had a lot of fun practicing counting to 10 and playing math games to work on our counting. We sang the song "Chicka Chicka 123" in class for a fun way to look at numbers!
This week we also discussed Fall and some of the changes we are noticing outside. We drew pictures about Fall in our writing books and tried the word "Fall."
Week Ahead
Next week we will be continuing to work on saying the number sequence up to 10, as well as working on representing numbers to 10 with pictures and materials. We will also continue our investigation of Fall, and will be using our senses to think about what Fall looks, feels, smells and sounds like. Students will continue to work on letter recognition by building our own class alphabet to display. We will be going outside again to create the letters out of Fall materials. The next "Fall walk" is scheduled for Wednesday September 26th so please send students prepared to go outside!
Reminders
1.) Monday September 24th is the Terry Fox Run for both AM and PM Kindergartens. AM will be at 9:00 am, and PM will go at 1:00 pm. Please bring a "toonie for Terry" if you can!
2.) Please send back demographic envelopes if you haven't already!
3.) If possible, please consider donating a box of kleenex to our classroom! Tissues/kleenex comes out of our supplies budget, so it's very super appreciated if each family can donate one box of tissue! Thank you for your consideration! :)
Have a great weekend!
