Friday Forecast

Hello Kindergarten Families!

It's been a great week in Kindergarten! This week we continued to work on our topic of "all about me" by discussing and reflecting on our feelings. We read the book "In My Heart" and practiced showing different feelings with a fun song. We also continued to practice counting this week, and today the AM Kindergarten class worked on the stamping activity that the PM class worked on last Friday.

Week Ahead

Next week we will continue to investigate ourselves, and work on deepening our understanding of our feelings and how we express them. We will also be continuing to work on our familiarity with the numbers 1-10 in class, and will be building on this understanding by starting to compare different sets of objects to identify groups that are bigger/smaller or the same as each other. We will also continue to work on "table work" activities at the start of the day, and conclude each day with a block of play center time!

Practice at Home

If you have time, it's always a good idea to practice counting at home! We are focusing on the numbers 1-10, but if your child can count higher, go for it! Playing board games that involve dice and counting different things while out and about are easy ways to practice at home. Working on online games, such as this one, is a good strategy as well!

Reminders

1.) Next week there is no school on Friday, October 26th (PD Day)

2.) Photo retakes will be on Monday, October 29th

I hope you all have a great weekend!
