Friday Forecast
Hello Kindergarten Families!
It was another fabulous week here in Kindergarten. The AM class did a great job in today's assembly, listening intently to honour the sombre event. A warm thank you to all of the parents and other family members who were able to attend the assembly this morning as well. Today the AM class also had their last session of CAD (Community Activity Day.) Ask your student what they worked on today! The PM Kindergarten class will be starting their first session of CAD in December.
This week in Kindergarten we have been working on learning our songs for the upcoming musical, "Press Start" (which will be on December 19th) Here are the songs each class is working on right now:
AM Kindergarten: Put on a Show Part 1 & Part 3
PM Kindergarten: Put on a Show Part 2 & Part 3
There will also be one more song we will learn later in the month that will be sung together by the whole school. If you are interested, you can click this link, and visit the website to listen to the songs. If you have time, feel free to have your child practice the lyrics to the songs we are working on now at home! Don't forget, you can also visit our music teacher's blog (Mrs. Andrews) for more updates about what we are doing in music.
Week Ahead
Next week, we will continue to focus on table work activities in the morning (reviewing the letters P,D,E & F, writing our names, counting game etc.) as well as play based centers in the latter part of the day. We will focus on the topic of feelings next week, and will be inquiring into the different types of feelings we can have and what they look like. This focus will also be embedded into our play centers. Students will also be completing their "All About Me" books, and will have the opportunity to share them with their peers. In Math we will also be continuing to look at one more and one less, and working on applying this to other contexts. In the Gym we have been working on throwing and catching, and we will work on throwing at a target next week! Hopefully we can also make some time to go outside as well, weather permitting!
Practice at Home
- Work on our songs for the play
- Ask your student to show "one more" and "one less" using blocks, beads, beans etc.
Reminders
1.) Next Friday November 16th is PM Kindergarten
2.) Please return wreath orders by November 18th if you are interested in purchasing one!
