Friday Forecast

Hello all,

It was a wonderful week in Kindergarten! This week we focused on patterns, reviewing "frog jump" capitals, and some STEAM challenges. We also started a new Science topic this week; bugs!

Week Ahead

Next week we will have Scientists in School visiting us on Thursday the 31st in both AM and PM classes. We are still in need of some volunteers in PM, so if anyone is interested please let me know! We will also be continuing to look at patterns next week in Math, and start applying our understanding to some word problems. In writing we will start looking at "corner capitals."

Reminders

1.) Report cards have been sent home, please check backpacks/folders. Please sign the report card envelope and return it by next Thursday. If you have any questions or concerns about your child's report card, please do not hesitate to contact me!

2.) Next Wednesday January 30th is a spirit day, "Hawaiian Day."

3.) No school Friday February 1st

4.) ***A note about volunteering***

We will be needing more parent volunteers in the next few months with some field trips coming up in March and May. In order to volunteer for a field trip or in the classroom, you must have a police check obtained through the office. The initial form that you fill out and give to the office, prompts a letter being sent to your email which you then take to a police station. Without completing this step of visiting the police station, you are not officially cleared to volunteer

I noticed as I was checking clearances that some parents have their status as "being processed" because they have not yet visited the police station with that letter. If that is the case for you, you most likely must come in to the office again to restart the process, as the letter is only valid for 3 months.

Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns about volunteering. We are always looking for volunteers and appreciate any time you can offer to help out with special events or trips. The process is a little annoying, but the good thing is a clearance (once complete) is valid for six years!

Hope every one has a great weekend!
