January 9th & Volunteers Needed!

Hello all!

Welcome back to school! It's been a jam packed few days back at school here in Kindergarten. We have been busy reviewing some of the work we started before the break on patterns, snow, and letters.

We also started taking a look at a new reading strategy; making connections. We read the story "Hansel and Gretel" yesterday, and students were asked to think about what the story reminded them of. We will continue to work on strategies for making connections when reading, which is an important tool to use when reading at all levels!

Volunteers Needed

On Thursday January 31st, Scientists in School will be visiting both AM and PM Kindergarten classes. They will be setting up a series of hands on activities for us centering on "Backyard Bugs" (our next Science topic will be bugs!)

We are looking for 4 volunteers per class to help run the centers. If you are interested in volunteering, and have clearance through the office, please contact me ASAP! Thank you in advance :)

Reminders

1.) Friday January 11th is PM Kindergarten, and our second session of CAD!

2.) No school on Friday January 18th (PD Day)

3.) Report cards will be coming home January 24th (PM) and January 25th (AM)

Have a wonderful evening!

~Ms. Weir
