Tuesday February 12th
Hello all!
Today was a very exciting day, as we had Constable Rich visit both AM & PM Kindie to discuss his job and how he helps us and our community. We learned a lot listening to him, ask your student what they remember from his presentation!
Yesterday we started our next Math topic, which is 2D and 3D shapes. We read the book "The Greedy Triangle" and reviewed some of the shape names and how many sides they have.

Yesterday we started our next Math topic, which is 2D and 3D shapes. We read the book "The Greedy Triangle" and reviewed some of the shape names and how many sides they have.
After we read the story, students were challenged to draw as many shapes as they could to see how many we already know, or learned from the story.
Practice at Home
We talked about how we can shapes in every day items, like a triangle is half a sandwich or a piece of pie. To remember the different shape names, we will be creating a bulletin board of all the different shapes we know. So, if you have any items at home that are good examples of a shape, please feel free to send one or two in! For example, a yogurt lid for a circle, or a ziploc bag for a rectangle etc. (If possible please send a flat item so that we can easily pin it up!)
