Hello Kindergarten Families!
It was a super fun day here in Kindergarten. We created our "mail boxes" and exchanged Valentine's Day cards in each class. Thank you so much to everyone who was able to send in cards - I am very impressed with all of the writing students did at home, so thank you for all of that hard work!
We also read the story "Rainbow Fish" to inspire us on "Random Acts of Kindness Day." The rainbow fish gave his shiny scales to his friends, and was happy about sharing with others. So we drew names out of a bucket, and created a bracelet to give away as an act of kindness!
Week Ahead
Next week we will continue to work on expanding our understanding of 2D and 3D shapes. Please continue to send in any "shapes" that you find at home, so we can add them to our bulletin board! This could include a yogurt lid for a circle, or a triangle from a piece of cardboard packaging etc. We will also wrap up our investigation of making connections in reading, and our exploration of fairy tales. In Science we will also revisit our topic of insects and bugs, and work on some drawings and art based activities that include insects. We also have "Three Left Feet" visiting our school for the next two weeks, and will be learning some African inspired dances in both Kindergarten classes!
Reminders
1.) No school tomorrow February 14th or Friday February 15th - Teacher's Convention
2.) No school Monday February 18th, - Family Day
3.) Next Friday February 22nd is AM Kindergarten
Have a great long weekend everyone! Happy Valentine's Day!
