Hello all!
It was another jam packed week in Kindergarten! Thank you to all who made it out to our performances on Thursday to showcase the work the students did with Three Left Feet! The students did an amazing job it was super fun working with Illara and Ingrid for the past two weeks.
On Thursday we also continued our work looking at shapes. We read the book "Triangle" by Mar Bennet, which was pretty funny :) Square chases Triangle into his house and gets stuck in the door! So we wondered if this might apply to other shapes. Students were challenged to see if they could fit squares into a circle, and build a circle using squares.

Most of us realized that this isn't possible! Our next steps are to work on understanding why it didn't work....
Next Week
Next week we will continue building on our understanding of shapes and how they relate to each other. Please continue to send in shapes from home that we can add to our boards! We will also be continuing to work on daily literacy center activities, and will start to focus more on some reading comprehension strategies in the next few weeks as well. Next Friday, we will have "Outdoors In" visit us, and teach us some things about wolves and beavers!
Reminders
1.) Next Friday March 8th is PM Kindergarten. Outdoors In** will also be visiting us to do some activities on winter animals!
**As mentioned in the last blog post, the "Outdoors In" nature walk we originally planned has been changed to an indoor activity due to weather :) We don't require any volunteers, but anyone who would like to join is welcome to!
Have a great weekend!
