March 13th
Hello Kindergarten families!
We've been having lots of fun this week in Kindergarten. On Monday we finally had a chance to go outside after being cooped up indoors for the past few weeks! We took a look at the naturalization area to observe some of the changes the space has undergone in the past few weeks. Tomorrow we will go outside again. Please send your child with outdoor clothing (hat, mitts, boots, etc.) and if possible, with snow pants. That way they will be free to explore the snow piles without getting their pants wet 😊
This week we have continued to investigate shapes, and have started to connect them to our understanding of community. We started by looking at houses, and how shapes are embedded into architecture.

This week we have continued to investigate shapes, and have started to connect them to our understanding of community. We started by looking at houses, and how shapes are embedded into architecture.
We then worked on a partner project to build our own houses out of shapes. Students chose a random popcicle stick with a name on it, and that was their partner for the activity. They had to work with their partner and practice good listening and compromising skills to create their houses.
We will hopefully have the finished houses up for parent conferences!
