April 18th
Hello all!
Thank you so much to everyone who made it out for the performances yesterday evening and afternoon. All of the students did a wonderful job and we were so excited to share with you what we have been working on at school!
Today we continued to work on 3D shapes, and reviewed the term "face" and how many faces are on some of the 3D shapes we have been looking at (pyramid, cone, cube, sphere and cylinder.) Students were then challenged to complete a word problem similar to one we have previously tackled. The problem was:
I have 2 shapes in my basket. Together they have 9 faces. What shapes could I have?
We used some real 3D shapes to count the faces, and discovered that the two shapes were a cube and a cylinder!
Students will continue to explore 3D shapes next week as well!
Reminders
1.) No school tomorrow, Friday April 19th or Monday April 22nd
2.) My apologies - the PM class ran out of time to visit the library today, so we will make sure to go next week. Also, home reading will come home Tuesday next week as there is no school on Monday :)
3.) Wednesday April 24th is "Athletic Wear Day" (dress up in active wear or sports team apparel)
Have a wonderful long weekend!
