Monday Forecast
Hello Kindergarten families!
Happy Monday! Today we worked on the letter Y during some focused writing time. We also reviewed all of the letters we have covered so far, we have done almost all of them except our "center starting" letters.
Week Ahead
This week we will be completing some art work to share at our Spring Concert on April 17th! More information about the Spring Concert is in the previous blog post, as well as in the recent "Monday Forecast." email. This week we will focus on the question "how can we be good friends?" and our art work will be focused on this topic. We will also be continuing to work on reading comprehension strategies during literacy centers and group read alouds. In Math, we will also be reviewing the 3D shapes that we introduced last week, and go over the terms "face" and "edge."
Reminders
1.) Home reading is coming home today! Please check folders for home reading bags. This will be the schedule for home reading & library books:
Monday - Home reading goes home
Wednesday - Send home reading bags back
Thursday - Send library books back
Thursday/Friday - Get new library book
Please remember that home reading books/activities are for your student to read to you! Please check the handout enclosed in the bag for more info (or feel free to ask me any questions!)
2.) This Friday April 12th is AM Kindergarten
3.) May 3rd and May 10th are field trip days to Butterfield acres - please let me know ASAP if you are able to volunteer and interested in joining us!
4.) Tomorrow April 9th we will be painting - please do not wear any super fancy clothes :)
Have a wonderful evening!
