Friday Forecast

Hello Kindergarten Families!

It was a crazy fast week in Kindergarten! On Tuesday we worked on the letters T and I. We talked about how if you combine them, they make the word "it." We also discovered there are lots of words that you can make using "it" as well!

Throughout the week we also worked on exploring weight, and the concept of heavier and lighter. We experimented with scales to test out different things in the classroom to see what was heavier or lighter than 5 cubes.

We also worked on an activity to sort different objects based on if they were heavy or light!

Today the morning class had a great day as well! They worked on making birds' nests for an art project to connect to our growing understanding of animal homes. The afternoon class will work on a similar activity next Friday :)

Week Ahead

Next week we will finish up the last center starting letters - J and A! In Math we will also look at comparing volume, and continue comparing items based on weight and length as well. Our ongoing investigation of animal homes will continue, and students will begin to independently work on researching an animal home. On Wednesday May 29th it will be Crazy Hair Day!!! On Thursday May 30th we will also have a school wide photo taken (the whole school in one photo!)
