May 30th

Hello all!

We've had a great week in Kindergarten so far - thank you to everyone who participated in "Crazy Hair Day." There were so many awesome hair-dos!

We've continued to build on our investigation of heavy and light this week, and yesterday we talked about "equal weight." The students worked in small groups to find out how many "cubes" certain items in the classroom were. We practiced balancing the scales by adding one cube at a time, and recorded how many cubes it took to balance a pair of scissors, a toy animal and one object of choice. We recorded our findings in our Math journals!

Reminders

1) Tomorrow is PM Kindergarten, and our second session of CAD! Please send library books if you haven't yet, as we will be visiting the library!

2.) A form is coming home today in home folders! On Friday June 21st we will have our annual "Fun Day." Both classes of Kindergarten will be able to attend on this Friday. Students will get to spend the majority of the day outside, playing games and participating in activities organized by teachers. The Kindergarten classes will also lead a brief assembly in the morning to start off the day (which parents and family members are welcome to attend!) At the end of the day, we will also have a BBQ for students! All of these events will occur during regular Friday school hours (8:00 - 11:55)

Please indicate on the form which food option you would like your child to receive. They will also get a bag of chips, as well as a water bottle. If you have any questions about the food choices, please let me know!

Please have the form signed and returned by next Wednesday June 5th.

Have a great evening everyone!

~ Ms. Weir
