October 17th
Hello all!
Today we worked on a math problem in our visual journals. We read the book, "Rooster's Off to See the World" by Eric Carle, which is a story about a rooster who meets two cats, three frogs, four turtles and five fish.
After we read the story - we wondered, is this a pattern? Both morning and afternoon students were asked to solve a problem in their journals. The morning class worked on figuring out how many animals in total went on the trip, and the afternoon class worked on thinking about how many animals the rooster might have met if he met another group.
There was a lot of good problem solving happening in both classes!
Reminders
1.) Tomorrow, October 18th is AM Kindergarten. We will be visiting the library so please send library books if you still have one!
2.) PM Kindergarten is coming home with new library books today!
3.) Just a heads up - on October 31st (Halloween) students will be allowed to wear costumes. I will provide more information in tomorrow's post - but basically we ask (if you will be participating) that your child's costume does not have a mask, weapon or anything that is too scary for school.
