Hello Kindergarten families!
We finished up our shape art yesterday and it looks beautiful! The students used chalk pastel to colour in the spaces created by their shapes. They had lots of fun using q-tips and their fingers to blend out the pastels. They turned out beautifully!
Ask your student where they can find shapes at home and when out and about. See what 2D shapes they are able to identify and name!
If you are interested in more practice, here are some great games for practicing identifying shapes and learning about their properties.
Week Ahead
Next week we will continue to look at the properties of 2D shapes, including how many sides and corners each shape has. We will also start to apply our understanding of 2D shapes to explore and solve some problems. On Monday we will look at our next corner capital, the letter U. We will also continue to work on drawing our ideas in our "Explore Journals" to practice making our pictures match our ideas and experiences. Next week Literacy samples will also be coming home so you can see an update on how your child is progressing.

1.) Friday January 24th is PM Kindergarten
2.) Report cards are coming home next week! Thursday January 23rd AM Report Cards go home, and Friday January 24th PM Report Cards go home.
