February 27th - Math Samples Posted on Iris!

Hello all!

It's been an exciting week in Kindergarten - we have been working hard on our puppets, and have had lots of fun meeting with Wendy to create our self-portrait puppets. Here is how some of them are looking so far:

Please note, today a Math sample has been added to your child's Iris account. Please check it out by logging on to your child's Iris account by using their CBE# and password. Please leave a comment under the sample (titled "Math") so that I know you have been able to see it!

The task posted for February is a problem solving task we worked on last week. Students were provided a triangle, and asked how many shapes fit inside. The morning class had to count the number of shapes and write the total, and the afternoon class had to use a chart to record the number of each shape they used.

Here is an exemplar for what level 4 would look like in this task. The student here has found multiple ways to solve the problem, recorded numerals correctly and clearly recorded their thinking.

As always, please contact me if you have any questions or concerns about your child's work!
